Locust Hill Lighting Reminder

Dear Locust Hill Residents,

I would like to send a “gentle” reminder to everyone to please turn off your outside lighting by 10 pm. Please do not leave on the lights after this time as a consideration for your neighbors. This is meant mainly for outdoor patio lighting. Thanks so much!

Pool Opening & Guidelines

Dear Locust Hill Residents,

The pool is open and ready to use. Please follow the below guidelines when using the pool. Thanks!

Locust Hill Condominium Association

Pool Opening & Compliance with CDC & VT State guidelines re: Covid-19

June 2020

USE THE POOL AT YOUR OWN RISK

PLEASE ADOPT AN “ARRIVE, SWIM, LEAVE” FRAME OF MIND FOR THIS SUMMER

Per VT State Stay Safe Order- Section 4.1 & 4.2 and CDC guidelines pools may open if they comply with this guidance, (the outdoor recreation guidelines); therefore, the Locust Hill Pool will open June 18, 2020 and will stay open as long as LH residents comply with these guidelines and Association Pool Rules.

  • No more than 10 people allowed in pool area at a time.
  • Please adhere to an : Arrive, Swim, Leave” mentality when others are present.
  • Please limit your use of the pool and enclosure to 30 minutes per visit.
  • We recommend you bring wipes to clean off the doorknobs and handrails in the pool area and hand sanitizer to clean hands before and after use. Please take anything you bring into the pool home with you, including wipes.
  • Practice social distancing- 6’ from others in and out of the pool – and good hand hygiene. Please consider if our child is capable of staying at least 6’ from people they don’t live with before bringing them to the pool.
  • Wear mask/cover face when not in pool and others are present.
  • To keep everyone safe as possible the Board is asking all residents to adhere to the guidelines. Failure to comply with this guidance may result in the closure of the pool.

If CDC and/or VT rules and guidelines change during the summer the Board will re-evaluate these rules and update accordingly.

Thank you for your cooperation.

Locust Hill Board

Outdoor BBQ/Grilling Rules and Regs

Dear Locust Hill Residents,

The nice weather has arrived and many owners would like to cook on their gas grills. Please make sure you are following the rules and state safety codes when grilling:

The Locust Hill Rule about Grilling:   #18 Locust Hill Condominium Association Rules and Regulations: April 14, 1988, revised May 13, 2012, revised July 23, 2019:  Grills: Grills shall be stored on the rear deck or patio and operated at least ten (10) feet from any building and privacy fence. Fire pits and charcoal grills are prohibited. All grills and outdoor cooking appliances shall be operated in accordance with all applicable fire and life safety rules, regulations, and statutes.

I have attached the VT Fire Safety Code Sheet for the State regulations. Also to clarify no smokers or any type of open flame grill is allowed at Locust Hill. The only acceptable grills are gas grills and electric grills.

Thanks and stay safe!

Composting at Locust Hill

Hello Homeowners –

The State of Vermont Act 148, passed in 2016, mandates food scraps to be composted, rather than included with trash as of July 1, 2020.

The Association is providing information as a convenience to homeowners so that you may choose the option for composting which best fits your home and your lifestyle.  There are many options, from delivering food scraps to the CSWD yourself or choosing from the “menu” of services offered by the composting companies listed on the attachments.

The contact information for all the composting companies is listed in the attachment. For your information, several of your neighbors already use NoWaste and are happy with their services and their pricing.

The Chittenden Solid Waste District website contains valuable information as to what can, and cannot be composted. www.cswd.net

Locust Hill is asking that homeowners take on the requirement of composting themselves in which manner works best for each unit. I have attached several options and if you go to the website listed they have a lot of information. The board will look at this once the State is set up for composting and may look into providing services in the future. For now it is best to have individual units take care of this themselves.

Thank you
